Call for Change

Many rational, educated, non-racist, non-homophibic, non-millionaire Americans think that the Rebublicans can't possibly keep winning elections because they are evil and Bush is the worst President ever and the Iraq war is BS and people will not continue to vote against their self interests based on fear and hatred."

If you think this, you are wrong.

The voting machines are rigged and the voting public are really really stupid.

We have got to take Congress back from the Republicans and impeach Bush now before It is too late and the Ultimate Evil takes power.

MoveOn's Call for Change program allows people with busy lives to spend as little as 15 minutes mobilizing voters in key races from their home computer and phone.

The goal is to make 5 million calls this election season—2 million have already been made. Here's what some MoveOn members have reported back:

This is easier than any political calling I have done. The print is large, you click on the screen rather than filling in tiny boxes. I like being able to call from home.
–Shelby, Spokane, WA

The best part is the flexibility of the program. I can call when my schedule permits, in small time slots: while I'm waiting for a fax, or have a half hour to spare.
—Diana, Los Angeles, CA

The tools, the script, the ease in which you can do this is wonderful! It could not be easier, and you can make a lot of calls in a short amount of time.
–Tomi, The Woodlands, TX

If you don't want your grandkids to one day ask you why you didn't do anything about the election of Emporer Krzyzewski, please click on this link to Call for Change (link).

Do-It-Yourself Impeachment, no joke.
The Citizens' movement.

The day the nation demands impeachment is almost upon us. On Jan 3rd, sacks and sacks of mail will be sent to congress demanding impeachment via the House of Representative's own rules. This legal document is as binding as if a State or if the House itself passed the impeachment resolution (H.R. 635).

There's a little known and rarely used clause of the "Jefferson Manual" in the rules for the House of Representatives which sets forth the various ways in which a president can be impeached. Only the House Judiciary Committee puts together the Articles of Impeachment, but before that happens, someone has to initiate the process.

That's where we come in. In addition to the State-by-State method, one of the ways to get impeachment going is for individual citizens like you and me to submit a memorial. ImpeachforPeace.org, part of the movement to impeach the president, has created a new memorial based on one which was successful in impeaching a federal official in the past. You can find it on their website as a PDF.

STOP WAITING FOR YOUR MEMBERS OF CONGRESS TO ACT FOR YOU.

You can initiate the impeachment process yourself by downloading the memorial, filling in the relevant information in the blanks (your name, state, etc.), and sending it in. Be a part of history.

I am sorry to see/read that politics are taking over the tenor of your blog lately. Although I agree politics are an important necessity for society and this is an easy place for you to talk about your opinions and feelings (probably also a logical place to do so), somehow it takes away the appeal to come and read your funny and nice stories every day.

This comment really hurts and I will not do any more posts that could be considered political.

Why? Because of the above comment and because...

I believe in the seperation of Church and State no more firmly than I believe in the seperation of Blog and State...

...and As an avid fan and proponent of mindless entertainment, the last thing that I want this blog to do is become too serious...

...and then there is that whole "unlawful enemy combatant" thing.

Hey,
The comment was not meant to hurt you and I am really sorry if it did.
The problem with politics and politically tinted matters is that they usually don't fit in logically true words:
"Don't do unto others what you don't want them to do unto you."
And the extension of it: "Don't say of others what you don't want them to say of you."
In politics (in the US as well as outside) we are no longer in the tenor of I-(strongly)agree-with or I-(strongly)disagree-with. Politics have become "how hard can we bash the other?". Personally I find that a completely wrong starting point for Country Management. Unfortunately it's where we are at and what politics have become. Therefore I rather refrain from it or don't say of other's as I don't want them to say of me ;-)

BUT ... please do not let me or the comment steer you in how you write your blog. That cannot be the correct way! This place is, as I said before, probably the most logical one for you to express your mind. There is another set of words, quite logical and you should also keep these in mind:
"To avoid critisism: do nothing, say nothing ... BE nothing (E Hubbard)". So, if you would now "hold-in" because of what was said, your blog would not entirely present the true-you and that would be a pity even more so.

In short: may be your not-so-good-friend hasn't failed, but found 10.000 ways that won't work? (Edison)

Cheers,
