World Wide Respect

The United States was once respected by the rest of the world. Recently, we have lost some of that respect. In my opinion, throwing our vast resources into wars and flexing out military muscle will not win back that respect.

We, as a nation, need to figure out what one thing is most important to average people world-wide and become the best at that thing.

What are Europeans, Africans, Asians and South Americans passionate about? How could we really get the attention of everyday people in other countries and win their respect?

The Answer = Start kicking their butts in SOCCER. I know what you are thinking, "Soccer is a wuss sport played by guys with mullets and there is not enough scoring and how can it be a sport if you can't use your hands."

Regardless of what you think of soccer as a sport, you can not deny that the rest of the world loves it. The average Frenchman does not care if we call french fries "freedom fries", as long as they can whip us in soccer. So lets focus and become the best in the world. Then they will take notice and respect the United States.
