X-mas Card Photo Reject 3

Seed, I just received your "real" Christmas card; with all respect to you and your children, I have to express my disappointment.

My main problem with the real card is that it lacks the authenticity that Xmas Photo Reject 2 and 3 typify. The real card seems staged (in fact, it is - we all know kids aren't nearly as cooperative or cherubic as this card would suggest), whereas the reject cards are, by definition, kids' real-life emotions upending their parents' attempts at staging "real-life" emotions.

More to the point, I can see true emotions gushing forth from the reject cards that are lacking in the real one? In each of Xmas Reject 2 and 3, I can almost hear Sam expressing his love for a certain type of dairy products (my son, too, is similarly afflicted; here's a tip, use "candy" or "money" as a key word to get your kids to smile without contorting their faces into the most annoying and un-photogenic pose imaginable). You'll see none of Sam's true-to-life expressions in the real card (I suspect because there is a part of the window in the real card that strategically covers Sam's mouth).

Also, in "Rejects" 2 and 3, Madeline's expressions are priceless. She "knows" why you are taking her picture; I suspect she also knows where Santa's stash is located but is keeping it quiet until it suits her purposes. Sleep with one eye open at all times!

Seriously, though, great pictures. I love reading about Rich (can he really be real or is he just your half-assed attempt to project your insecurities on a seemingly unthreatening roommate?)
